THE PRACTICE

My name is Malene Jørgensen and I’m a Veterinary Surgeon specialising in classical homeopathy and other complementary therapies, now living and working in the Var department of the Provence-Alpes-Côtes d’Azur region in South-Eastern France. My surgery is based in Lorgues in a small town house in center of the village.

As a fully qualified vet I am able to offer a wide range of holistic therapies privately for dogs and cats at my practice and for horses at their stables. Please see more information under services.

In my practice it is important for me to look at an animal holistically and not just to see symptoms as isolated occurrences. A presenting symptom is the body’s way to show that something is wrong – it is not the disease! The term holistic does not mean alternative. Holism (from holos, a Greek word meaning all, entire, total) is the idea that all the properties of a given system (biological, chemical, etc.) cannot be determined or explained by its component parts alone. Instead, the system as a whole determines how the parts behave.

I offer homeopathic treatment to all companion animals including horses. I also use acupuncture in the traditional way with needles or laser for more sensitive individuals. For me, a healthy natural non-processed diet is the foundation for healing and maintenance of good health and I give advice on how to adjust your animal’s diet to provide the body with the nutrients it needs to get rid of any problems and stay healthy!

I can also now offer state-of-the-art Low Level Laser Therapy, which can help animals with a multitude of problems, including – but not limited to – arthritis, acute sprains/strains, chronic pain and stiffness, mouth and skin infections, ear problems, healing of wounds and a lot of other conditions, which the conventional medicine has few if any lasting solutions to.

I advise regarding vaccination and how to avoid chronic problems arising from over-vaccination. I can offer advice on having a titre-test to help determine, if your animal is already immune and doesn’t need a vaccine to stay healthy. Please ask for specific leaflets, which explain much more about these services.

At the moment I am able to take consultations in English and Scandinavian languages. Although my French is not fluent, I do now have several French clients and with a bit of patience, we always make it work.
